From May 2008 you are welcome in the newly built guesthouse, close to the new convent for elderly nuns in Nyerma, not far from the famous monastery in Thiksey. The place is breathtakingly beautiful, with a view of the snowy peaks of the Himalayas. The area is still not completely finished, there is still a garden, a laundry, a shop and a kitchen.

You can be the first guests enjoy the tranquility of this place, where tens of centuries ago, the first monastery of Ladakh was built. The ruins of the ancient stupas and are not far removed from the guesthouse.

It is an ideal guesthouse for people who want to relax, to meditate, or occasionally like to experience the life of the nuns.


We have available 6 double rooms with private bathroom, which includes toilets, (cold) shower and sink. Hot water is available. People just are welcome.

For now we offer two options:
Bed & Breakfast: 450 Rupees per person
Accommodation with half board: 500 Rupees per person.
(Only vegetarian meals)

The intention is that this guesthouse is the source of income for the livelihood of the nuns who live in the nearby monastery. You support so by the nuns to come and stay in this guesthouse.
